Custom Furniture Dubai
Custom furniture means an individual, standalone piece — a dining table, desk, coffee table, bench or headboard frame — built to your exact dimensions, material and finish, rather than chosen from a retail range and adapted to fit. Unlike a fitted wardrobe or kitchen cabinet, a custom furniture piece isn’t installed into the room’s structure; it’s a freestanding object you could take with you if you moved.
We build wood-based furniture specifically: solid timber, veneer and engineered wood pieces, cut, joined and finished in our own workshop. If your project involves upholstered furniture — sofas, fabric headboards, cushioned seating — that’s a different trade requiring foam, springs and upholstery skills we don’t provide directly, and we’ll say so plainly rather than subcontract it silently and call it our own work.
If what you actually need is architectural, whole-room joinery — a room divider, a floor-to-ceiling storage wall — our Custom Joinery page covers that larger-scale service. This page is specifically about the individual, freestanding piece.
Dimensions, material and finish specified precisely for your space, not adapted from a standard range.
Solid timber, veneer and engineered wood pieces made in-house. We’re upfront when a project needs upholstery skills we don’t provide.
A standalone piece you could take with you if you moved, distinct from fitted joinery installed into a room’s structure.
Cut, joined and finished by our own craftsmen, not sourced from a catalogue and re-badged.
Scope of Work
Individual wood furniture, made to your exact specification.
Sized to your room and seating count, in solid timber or veneer finishes, including extendable and live-edge options.
Home office and study desks built to your exact dimensions and cable management needs.
Living room pieces sized and shaped to complement the rest of the room’s furniture.
Entryway, hallway and dining benches, plus console tables for hallways and behind-sofa placement.
Solid wood headboard frames, built to your bed size (upholstered finishing arranged separately if required).
A specific piece with no standard category — tell us what you have in mind and we’ll scope it.
Local Context
Retail furniture is designed for a generic room and a generic buyer. It’s often close to what you want, but rarely exactly right — a dining table that’s slightly too long for the room, a desk that doesn’t quite fit the alcove, a coffee table that’s the wrong height for your specific sofa. Custom furniture removes that compromise entirely, at the cost of a longer lead time than buying off a showroom floor.
Material honesty matters more with furniture than most people realise. “Solid wood” in a retail listing sometimes means a veneer over engineered board, which isn’t necessarily a problem, but it should be disclosed rather than implied. We specify exactly what a piece is made from — solid timber, veneer over MDF or plywood, or engineered wood — in writing, so you know precisely what you’re paying for.
Dubai’s climate is a genuine factor for freestanding wood furniture too, not just fitted cabinetry. A dining table near a window with strong daily sun exposure, or a piece in a room with inconsistent air conditioning, needs finish and joinery choices that account for that, rather than a generic specification that assumes stable indoor conditions.
Custom Furniture Makes Sense When
How We Work
The same process whether it’s one piece or several furnishing a whole room.
We discuss the piece you want and measure the space it needs to fit, including any specific dimension constraints.
Material, joinery style and finish confirmed and shown against samples before manufacturing begins.
A fixed price for the piece, confirmed before any work starts.
Cut, joined and finished by our own craftsmen to the agreed specification.
Delivered and placed in the room, with any final adjustment checked on site.
Materials
Specified honestly and in writing, not left as a vague “premium materials” claim.
Real wood, full thickness through the piece, for furniture where genuine timber weight and grain matter.
A real wood veneer over MDF or plywood, giving the appearance of solid timber at a lower cost and weight.
MDF and plywood finished in paint, lacquer or laminate, a cost-effective option for painted or simple finishes.
Metal legs, frames or glass tops combined with wood elements for a mixed-material piece.
Exact material specification confirmed in writing on your quote before manufacturing begins.
Property Types
Coffee tables, console tables and side tables sized to complement existing furniture.
Tables sized to the room and seating count, from compact apartment dining to large villa gatherings.
Desks built to exact dimensions, including cable management and specific storage needs.
Headboard frames and bedside pieces sized to match your bed and room proportions.
Problems We Fix
The recurring reasons clients move from retail furniture to a made-to-order piece.
Too long, too short, or the wrong shape for the actual room, solved by building to the exact dimension instead.
Retail desks rarely match an awkward alcove or a specific cable management need.
Uncertainty about whether a piece is genuinely solid wood or veneer, resolved by a written material specification.
A specific design idea or dimension that simply doesn’t exist as a standard product.
Mismatched wood tones and finishes across separately purchased pieces, resolved with a coordinated custom order.
Retail furniture not specified for sun exposure or humidity, addressed with the right material and finish choice from the start.
Investment
Custom furniture pricing depends heavily on material, size and joinery complexity, more variably than most other carpentry categories, since a small side table and a large dining table are both “custom furniture” and cost very differently.
Material. Solid timber costs meaningfully more than veneer over engineered wood, which in turn costs more than painted MDF.
Size. A large dining table costs more than a compact side table, both in material and workshop time.
Joinery complexity. Traditional joinery techniques and detailed craftsmanship take more time than a simple flat-panel design.
Finish. A hand-finished lacquer or oil takes more time and skill than a standard factory-applied laminate.

If your project is architectural rather than a single piece — a room divider, a full storage wall — our Custom Joinery page covers that instead.
Get It Right First Time
A handful of avoidable mistakes account for most custom furniture complaints we hear about.
Vague material claims. “Solid wood” without confirmation of whether that means genuine timber or veneer over board is a common source of disappointment. Ask for the specific material in writing.
No allowance for Dubai’s climate. A piece near a window with strong sun exposure or in a room with inconsistent air conditioning needs a finish specified for that, not a generic indoor assumption.
Ordering without an accurate measure. A piece sized from a rough estimate rather than an actual room measurement risks a poor fit, especially for larger items like dining tables.
Assuming upholstery is included. If a piece involves fabric, foam or cushioning, confirm whether that’s handled in-house or by a separate specialist, since it’s a genuinely different trade to wood furniture making.
Choosing on price alone. A significantly cheaper quote for the same described piece is often using a lower-grade material than stated, or skipping proper joinery for a faster, weaker construction method.
Ask Every Quote These Six Questions
Aftercare
Well-made wood furniture needs minimal upkeep, but three habits protect the investment.
Even a well-finished table benefits from protection against hot dishes, condensation rings and scratches from daily use.
Move or shield pieces that sit in strong daily sun to prevent premature fading and finish degradation.
A soft cloth and appropriate wood-safe cleaner, avoiding harsh solvents that dull the finish over time.
Areas We Serve
Design consultations and delivery city-wide.
Questions
Custom furniture refers to individual, freestanding pieces such as a table, desk or bench that could be moved if you relocated. Custom joinery refers to architectural, whole-room built-in work such as room dividers or floor-to-ceiling storage walls that become part of the room’s structure. Our Custom Joinery page covers that larger-scale service.
No, not directly. We build wood-based furniture: solid timber, veneer and engineered wood pieces cut, joined and finished in our own workshop. Upholstered furniture involving fabric, foam and springs is a different specialist trade, and we’ll say so plainly rather than subcontract it silently.
Cost depends heavily on material, size and joinery complexity, so a single figure would be misleading. Solid timber costs meaningfully more than veneer over engineered wood, and a large dining table costs more than a compact side table. Describe your piece on WhatsApp for an indicative bracket.
Solid wood furniture is genuine timber through the full thickness of the piece. Veneer furniture has a thin layer of real wood over an engineered wood core such as MDF or plywood, giving the appearance of solid timber at a lower cost and weight. Both are legitimate options; the material should simply be disclosed clearly rather than left ambiguous.
Manufacturing typically takes one to three weeks depending on material and complexity, with solid timber and detailed joinery taking longer than simpler engineered wood pieces. Multi-piece orders furnishing a whole room can take two to four weeks.
Yes, this is one of the most common custom furniture requests. Tables are sized precisely to your room and seating count, including extendable or non-standard shapes where a retail table wouldn’t fit properly.
Yes, when material and finish are specified correctly for the piece’s location, particularly sun exposure and humidity. A piece near a window with strong daily sun needs different finish treatment to one in a shaded, climate-controlled room, and this should be discussed at the brief stage.
Yes. We can match or intentionally complement existing wood tones and finishes, using physical samples shown against your actual furniture rather than choosing from a screen.
Yes, including desks built to exact dimensions for cable management, specific storage needs, or an awkward home office alcove that standard desks don’t fit.
Often, yes, once shipping and duties are factored in. Imported furniture can take six to sixteen or more weeks with shipping, while locally made custom furniture is typically ready in one to three weeks and avoids the shipping cost entirely.
Workmanship and joinery are covered against manufacturing defects. Specific warranty terms are confirmed in writing as part of your quote before manufacturing begins.
Describe the piece, rough dimensions, and any reference photos, and we’ll get back to you with an indicative bracket before confirming a fixed quote.
