GET TO KNOW PARQUET FLOORING
Parquet flooring Dubai installations are built from small blocks or strips of solid or engineered wood, arranged into a geometric pattern rather than laid as long straight planks. Herringbone and chevron are the two patterns we install most, followed by basket weave and Versailles panels for larger, more formal rooms.
We work with both traditional solid wood parquet blocks — sanded and finished on site after laying — and factory-finished engineered click parquet, which installs faster and suits Dubai’s climate more reliably. As part of our wider flooring services, we specify the right build-up for your room rather than defaulting to whichever stock we have on hand.

Quick Facts
PATTERNS WE INSTALL
Every parquet pattern we lay is planned and dry-fitted first, so cuts land symmetrically against your walls and doorways rather than trimmed as an afterthought.
Blocks laid at 90° in a zigzag — the most requested pattern for Dubai living rooms and majlis spaces.
Angle-cut blocks forming a continuous V pattern for a sharper, more formal look than herringbone.
Alternating block groups forming a woven-tile effect, well suited to larger open-plan rooms.
Pre-assembled decorative panels for feature rooms, studies and formal dining areas.
Factory-finished parquet patterns on a stable engineered core — faster to install, no on-site sanding.
Traditional solid blocks, glued down and sanded on site for the most authentic parquet finish.
WHY CHOOSE VISION THREE
We lay out the full pattern dry first, so you approve the layout before any adhesive goes down.
Solid parquet sanding and finishing is done by our own trained team, not a subcontractor.
We bring physical block samples so you see the pattern and finish in your actual lighting.
Every project is backed by a written workmanship warranty, separate from the product warranty.
HOW WE WORK
We inspect the subfloor, discuss pattern options and take exact room measurements.
You choose the pattern and wood species from physical samples laid out in your space.
Old flooring removed if needed; subfloor levelled, cleaned and primed before laying begins.
Pattern dry-fitted and approved, then blocks glued down or click-fitted following the agreed layout.
Solid parquet is sanded, stained to your chosen tone and sealed on site; engineered parquet is inspected and finished.
MATERIALS & SPECIFICATION
Parquet quality comes down to block consistency and wear-layer thickness — both are where budget ranges cut corners. We only stock parquet that meets these minimum specifications for the Dubai climate:
Every batch of solid blocks is checked for moisture content and dimensional consistency before laying, since even a small variance between blocks becomes very visible once assembled into a repeating pattern. Engineered click parquet comes with a manufacturer datasheet confirming wear-layer thickness and core construction, which we keep on file alongside our own written workmanship warranty.
70–90mm wide, 8–10mm thick oak or similar hardwood, sanded and finished after laying.
Multi-ply or HDF core beneath a hardwood veneer, engineered for stability under Dubai’s AC cycling.
0.6mm–3mm real wood top layer on engineered parquet, depending on grade and finish.
Flexible wood-flooring adhesive for solid blocks, matched to subfloor type and room conditions.
Sanding in progressive grits, stain to the chosen tone, then lacquer or hardwax oil seal.
Vapour barrier fitted beneath the floor on ground-level rooms and any area with elevated moisture readings.
WHERE WE INSTALL
Parquet flooring installation Dubai projects usually go into feature rooms and formal spaces where the pattern itself is part of the design, alongside full-home installations for clients who want the look throughout.
Herringbone or chevron in living rooms and majlis spaces, often paired with wooden flooring elsewhere in the home.
Engineered click parquet for a low-disruption installation that suits occupied buildings.
Herringbone or basket weave for reception areas and executive offices wanting a premium finish.
Versailles panels and chevron patterns for boutique hotels, showrooms and F&B interiors.
COMMON PROBLEMS WE FIX
Old adhesive fails over time in Dubai’s heat — we lift, re-glue or replace affected blocks and re-sand the area to match.
Years of foot traffic dull the seal — a full sand-and-refinish restores the original sheen without replacing the floor.
Humidity swings open gaps between blocks — we fill, sand and reseal for a level, tight-fitting surface.
Localised water exposure causes cupping or staining — we replace the affected blocks and blend the finish into the surrounding floor.
Parquet flooring is classed as a finishing/cosmetic works item in most Dubai villas and apartments, so it typically does not require a Dubai Municipality building permit on its own. If the installation is part of a wider renovation involving flooring level changes or common-area access in a managed community or tower, you will usually need a community NOC from the developer or owners’ association before work starts — DAMAC, Emaar and Nakheel communities each have their own contractor registration and working-hours rules. We handle NOC paperwork and contractor registration as part of our project management on managed communities and towers.
One issue specific to parquet worth flagging: on-site sanding of solid blocks produces fine dust, and skipping proper dust containment can leave residue across an entire home, not just the room being worked on. Our crews seal off the work area and use dust-extraction sanders, which is worth confirming with any installer before sanding begins — it is one of the most common complaints we hear about previous installers.
COST FACTORS
Pricing depends on pattern complexity, wood species, and whether you choose solid blocks (sanded on site) or factory-finished engineered parquet — solid parquet with on-site finishing costs more due to the labour involved.

HOW PARQUET COMPARES
Parquet delivers a patterned look no plank flooring replicates, but it costs more and takes longer to lay than straight-plank alternatives.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Layout | Geometric pattern (herringbone, chevron) | Straight planks | Straight planks | Straight planks |
| Installation time | 3–9 days | 3–5 days | 2–4 days | 1–2 days |
| Refinishable | Yes (solid parquet) | Yes | Some (thicker veneer) | No |

MISTAKES TO AVOID
The most frequent issue we see is a pattern that wasn’t dry-fitted before gluing, leaving an uneven border where the pattern meets the walls. Dry-fitting the full layout first and adjusting the starting point is what keeps borders symmetrical.
The second is skipping proper subfloor moisture testing before gluing solid blocks down. Trapped moisture beneath a glued parquet floor causes blocks to lift or cup within months, and it’s far cheaper to test and treat the subfloor upfront than to lift a finished floor later.
The third is choosing a wood species or finish from a small sample chip rather than a full laid-out sample of the actual pattern. Herringbone and chevron patterns read very differently across a full room than they do on a single block.
A fourth mistake worth flagging: rushing the sanding and finishing stage. Each sanding pass needs to fully dry and cure before the next, and skipping grits or rushing the seal coat leaves a finish that wears unevenly within the first year.

MAINTENANCE TIPS
Dubai dust settles fast — a soft-brush vacuum keeps grit from scratching the finish between blocks.
Standing water is the enemy of any parquet floor. Wipe spills immediately and never wet-mop.
Keep AC running consistently rather than switching it off for long periods — humidity swings are what open gaps between blocks.
