OVERVIEW

Shower Glass Made for the Bathroom You Actually Have

Custom shower enclosures in Dubai are for the showers that standard kits cannot fit: a sloping attic ceiling, a wall that is out of square, a curved corner, a steam shower or a layout the designer drew before the room was built. Vision Three designs, fabricates and installs custom shower enclosures for apartments, villas, hotels and offices across Dubai, in 8mm, 10mm and 12mm toughened glass, templated to your bathroom and cut to the millimetre.

Custom work is where careful measuring matters most. A straight cut-to-size panel can be adjusted on site by a few millimetres, but bent glass, shaped glass and steam-sealed glass cannot, because toughened glass is made to its final shape in the furnace. Every custom enclosure we make starts with a full survey, a dimensioned drawing for your approval and, where the walls are out of true, a physical template, so the glass fits the room as it actually is, not as the plan says.

We have renovated bathrooms in Dubai since 2008, so we can also correct walls, tiling and waterproofing before the glass is made. This page covers the custom layouts we build, how we template and fabricate, real AED prices, mistakes to avoid and how we work. For standard sizes, compare our shower glass doors, sliding shower glass doors and walk-in shower glass enclosures, or see the full range in our overview of shower glass enclosures in Dubai.

Surveyed and templated

We measure with a laser and, where walls are out of true, make a physical template of the opening.

Drawn for your approval

You see a dimensioned drawing of every panel, door and fixing before any glass is cut.

Toughened and marked

Every panel carries a visible safety mark. Holes, notches and curves are made before toughening, never after.

One team, one itemised quote

Survey, drawings, fabrication, installation and silicone sealing on a single written quotation with no extras on the day.

CUSTOM LAYOUTS

Custom Shower Enclosure Types We Build in Dubai

Each custom layout solves a specific site problem. These are the six we build most often and what each is best at.

Angled & Sloped-Ceiling Enclosures

Glass cut to follow an attic, loft or sloping ceiling, with the top edge shaped to the exact angle so there is no gap.

Curved & Quadrant Enclosures

Bent toughened glass for rounded corners and quadrant showers, made to a fixed radius for a smooth, soft shape.

Steam Shower Enclosures

Fully sealed glass to the ceiling with door seals and a sloped ceiling for condensation, ready for a steam generator.

Steel-Look & Black-Framed Enclosures

Slim black or bronze framed glass in a factory or Crittall-style grid, built to your pattern and finish.

Fluted, Frosted & Tinted Glass

Reeded, frosted, bronze or grey tinted glass for privacy and a designer look, in any of our enclosure layouts.

Out-of-Square & Bespoke Openings

Panels templated to walls that lean, bow or run at an angle, so the enclosure fits without large silicone gaps.

Is your shower standard-shaped?

A regular alcove or corner is usually cheaper with a standard layout: see our shower glass doors, sliding shower glass doors, walk-in shower glass enclosures and frameless shower glass.

WHY VISION THREE

Why Dubai Homeowners Trust Us With Custom Shower Glass

We template, not guess

Where walls are out of true we make a physical template, so the glass fits the room rather than the plan.

Drawings before glass

You approve a dimensioned drawing of every panel, because custom glass cannot be changed once toughened.

Measured after tiling, never before

Final measurements are taken on finished surfaces with a laser level, to within 1mm.

Silicone that suits natural stone

Neutral-cure, anti-fungal sanitary silicone as standard, so marble and stone are never stained.

Renovation team behind the glass

We can correct walls, falls and waterproofing through our bathroom tiling and MEP teams before the glass goes in.

Plain-English quotations

Glass, shaping, thickness, hardware finish and installation are itemised so you can compare quotes like for like.

HOW IT WORKS

Our 5-Step Custom Shower Enclosure Process

1

Free Site Survey

We measure with a laser level, check walls, floor fall and ceiling, and photograph the opening. Walls that are out of true are templated.

2

Design, Drawing & Quote

You choose the layout, glass, finish and hardware. We issue a dimensioned drawing and an itemised quotation, usually within 24 to 72 hours.

3

Final Measure & Fabrication

Once tiles and grout are done we take final measurements. Glass is cut, shaped or bent, drilled and toughened. Typically 10–15 working days, longer for curved glass.

4

Installation

We fix the channels, brackets and hardware, set the glass and check every joint and gap. Most custom enclosures are fitted in one day.

5

Seal, Test & Handover

Joints are sealed with sanitary silicone and left to cure for 24 hours. We water-test the enclosure, check the door action and show you the cleaning routine.

GLASS, HARDWARE & FINISHES

Choosing Custom Glass, Frames, Hardware and Seals

Custom enclosures give the widest choice of glass and finish. For the cleanest frameless look, see our frameless shower glass page.

8mm toughened

Smaller custom panels and steel-look framed glass. Strong and cost-efficient.

10mm toughened

Our default for custom frameless, steam and angled enclosures. A solid, reassuring feel.

12mm toughened

Tall or wide custom panels and heavy doors. The most substantial option.

Bent (curved) glass

Glass shaped in the furnace to a fixed radius for quadrant and rounded showers. Cannot be altered once made.

Fluted, frosted & tinted

Reeded, frosted, bronze or grey glass for privacy and a designer look, matched to your tiles.

Seals and easy-clean coating

Steam-grade seals, vertical edge seals and a hydrophobic coating keep the glass clear and watertight.

Hinges, handles and frames come in polished chrome, brushed nickel, matte black, brushed gold, bronze and gunmetal. We specify SS304 stainless steel as standard and marine-grade SS316 for coastal homes on Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Marina, JBR, Emaar Beachfront and Bluewaters Island, where salt-laden air can pit lower-grade fittings. Low-iron glass removes the green edge tint of standard glass and typically adds 20–30% to the glass cost. Steam showers also need a sloped ceiling of around 15 degrees so condensation runs down the wall instead of dripping on the bather.

WHERE WE WORK

Custom Shower Enclosures for Villas, Apartments, Hotels and Offices

Villas

Curved, steam, steel-look and full-height enclosures for master bathrooms in Emirates Hills, Palm Jumeirah and Dubai Hills Estate, often within a villa renovation.

Apartments

Angled and bespoke enclosures for awkward footprints in Downtown, JLT, Business Bay and Dubai Marina. See our apartment renovation work.

Hotels & serviced apartments

Designer enclosures in fluted or steel-look glass with a repeatable specification across many rooms.

Offices, gyms & spas

Steam rooms, spa showers and changing-room enclosures built to hard-wearing, easy-clean specifications.

PROBLEMS WE SOLVE

Common Custom Shower Problems in Dubai Bathrooms

Glass that does not fit the opening

Ordered before tiling or from drawings of walls that are out of true. We re-template and re-make the glass to the real opening.

Steam escaping or dripping

No sealed top or a flat ceiling. We seal to the ceiling and advise on a sloped ceiling so condensation runs down the wall.

Large silicone gaps

Panels cut square for walls that are not. We re-make tapered panels that fit with a thin, neat joint.

Awkward corners that cannot take a door

A shower in a loft or niche with no room to swing. We design a sliding, pivot or fixed solution to suit.

Black mould in the silicone

Old silicone that was never anti-fungal grade. We cut it out completely, clean and dry the joint, then re-seal.

Cracked or chipped glass

Toughened and bent glass cannot be repaired once damaged, so we template, re-make and replace the panel.

COST GUIDE 2026

How Much Do Custom Shower Enclosures Cost in Dubai?

Supplied and installed, custom shower enclosures in Dubai typically cost from AED 3,200 for an angled or out-of-square enclosure in 10mm glass to AED 16,000 or more for a large steam, curved or steel-look design in low-iron glass. A custom L-shaped enclosure in 10mm glass with a hinged door usually lands between AED 3,200 and AED 5,500.

Price follows five things: the glass area in square metres, the amount of shaping or bending, the glass type and thickness, the number of panels, cut-outs and fixings, and the hardware finish. Bent glass, steel-look frames, matte black and brushed gold cost more than flat clear glass with chrome fittings.

Our quotes include survey, drawings, templating, fabrication, delivery, installation, silicone sealing and removal of packaging. Removing an existing enclosure is quoted separately, typically AED 150–350, and the steam generator and its plumbing are quoted separately by our MEP team.

COMPARE

Custom vs Standard Shower Enclosures

What is the difference between a custom and a standard shower enclosure? A standard enclosure uses common sizes and layouts and is quicker and cheaper, while a custom enclosure is templated and made to your exact opening, ceiling or shape. Choose custom when walls are out of true, the ceiling is sloped, or you want curved, steam or designer glass. Read more on our shower glass doors page.

AVOID COSTLY ERRORS

6 Custom Shower Enclosure Mistakes We See in Dubai Bathrooms

1. Ordering glass before the tiles are done. Tiles and grout change the opening by up to 30mm. Custom glass ordered before tiling often cannot be used, and cannot be altered once toughened.

2. Skipping the template. Walls in older Dubai buildings are rarely square. Cutting panels from a tape measure leaves wide silicone gaps; a template makes them fit.

3. Not planning the steam ceiling. A flat ceiling in a steam shower drips on the bather. Plan a slope of around 15 degrees and a sealed ceiling before the glass is ordered.

4. Choosing curved glass without allowing for lead time. Bent glass is made in the furnace to a fixed radius and takes longer. Allow 3 to 5 weeks and do not change the design after approval.

5. Ignoring cleaning and maintenance. Fluted glass and steel-look grids have more edges to clean. Choose the finish with the cleaning routine in mind.

6. Drilling or trimming after toughening. Toughened glass cannot be cut, drilled or notched once tempered. Every hole and cut-out must be on the approved drawing.

AFTERCARE

Keeping Your Custom Shower Glass Clear and Watertight

Squeegee after every shower

Ten seconds removes water before minerals dry on the glass. It is the single most effective habit.

Clean fluted and framed glass gently

Use a soft cloth and a mild non-acid cleaner, and a soft brush for the grooves and frame edges.

Check hinges and seals every six months

Open and close the door and look for sagging or hardened seals. Replace seals when they harden.

Ventilate the bathroom

Run the extractor during your shower and for 20 minutes afterwards to reduce mould in the silicone joints.

Maintain steam equipment

Have the steam generator descaled as advised by its maker, because limescale builds up quickly in Dubai’s hard water.

Re-seal every 3–5 years

Silicone discolours and loses adhesion. Our home maintenance and handyman teams can renew it in a single visit.

FAQS

Custom Shower Enclosures: Frequently Asked Questions

Supplied and installed, custom shower enclosures in Dubai typically cost AED 3,200–5,500 for an angled or L-shaped enclosure, AED 5,500–9,500 for steam or curved designs, and AED 9,500–16,000+ for large designer, steel-look or low-iron enclosures. The exact price follows a free site survey and drawing.

A custom shower enclosure is shower glass made to your exact opening, ceiling or shape instead of a standard size. It is templated and drawn for approval, then cut, shaped or bent and toughened. It suits sloped ceilings, out-of-square walls, steam showers and designer layouts.

Flat custom glass typically takes 3 to 4 weeks from survey to installation, including 10 to 15 working days of fabrication and toughening. Curved glass takes 4 to 6 weeks, because bent glass is made to a fixed radius and has a longer lead time.

Yes. We survey the slope and cut the top edge of the glass to the exact angle, then fix it to the ceiling line so there is no gap. This is common in loft and attic bathrooms and needs an approved drawing before the glass is made.

Yes. We supply bent toughened glass for quadrant and rounded showers, made to a fixed radius in the furnace. Because it cannot be altered once made, the radius and size are approved on a drawing, and lead time is usually 3 to 5 weeks.

Yes. A steam enclosure is sealed with glass to the ceiling, door seals and a ceiling sloped at around 15 degrees so condensation runs down the wall. We make and install the glass, and our MEP team can handle the steam generator and plumbing.

A steel-look shower enclosure uses slim black or bronze framed glass in a factory or Crittall-style grid. It is built to your pattern and finish, usually in 8mm to 10mm toughened glass, and gives a designer, industrial look at a lower cost than a solid steel frame.

10mm toughened glass is the best all-round choice for custom frameless, steam and angled enclosures. Use 12mm for tall or wide panels and heavy doors, and 8mm for smaller panels and steel-look framed glass.

No. Toughened and bent glass cannot be cut, drilled or reshaped once made, so every dimension, hole and cut-out is confirmed on a drawing before fabrication. That is why we template and measure after your tiling is finished.

Yes. We take a physical template of the opening, so tapered or leaning walls are matched exactly. This avoids large silicone gaps and gives a neater, more watertight fit than cutting from tape measurements.

SS304 stainless steel is fine for most homes inland. For apartments and villas near the sea, such as Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Marina, JBR and Bluewaters, we recommend marine-grade SS316, which resists pitting from salt-laden air far better.
