OVERVIEW
A shower glass partition in Dubai is a fixed panel of toughened glass that separates the wet shower or bath zone from the rest of the bathroom, with no door to open, no frame to scrub and very little hardware to fail. Vision Three designs, supplies and installs shower glass partitions for apartments, villas, hotels and offices across Dubai, in 8mm, 10mm and 12mm toughened glass, cut to the millimetre once your tiles are finished.
Because a partition has no door, the panel does one job: it stops spray. That makes its size, its position relative to the shower head and the way it is fixed to the wall far more important than most people expect. A panel that is 150mm too narrow or set on the wrong side of the shower will soak the floor every morning, however good the glass is. We work out panel width, height and position on site, with the shower running in mind, before a single piece of glass is ordered.
We have renovated bathrooms in Dubai since 2008, so we also check what the glass will stand on: the floor fall towards the drain, the waterproofing behind the tile and the wall that has to carry the fixings. This page covers the partition types we install, the glass and fixing options, real AED prices, mistakes to avoid and how we work. If you are still deciding between a partition and a full enclosure, start with our overview of shower glass enclosures in Dubai, or see our walk-in shower glass enclosures page for fully doorless layouts.
We position and size every panel around your shower head, tray and drain, so water stays where it should.
Channels and clamps are fixed into solid backing, with penetrations through the tile sealed and waterproofed.
8, 10 and 12mm tempered glass, each panel carrying a visible safety mark. All holes are drilled before toughening.
Survey, fabrication, installation and silicone sealing on a single written quotation with no extras on the day.
PARTITION TYPES
Every bathroom splashes in a different place, so there is no single best partition. These are the six layouts we install most often, and what each one is best at.
A single panel fixed to the side wall and floor, usually 800mm to 1,400mm wide. The simplest and most economical partition, and the right answer for a standard shower beside a fixed wall.
A main panel plus a short return panel of 300mm to 450mm at right angles. The return catches spray from rain showers and wide tray layouts that a single panel misses.
A fixed panel on the bath rim, typically 700mm to 850mm wide and 1,400mm to 1,500mm high, that replaces the shower curtain over a combined bath and shower.
A panel stopping at around 1,000mm to 1,400mm. Good for keeping water off a vanity or WC next to the shower while keeping the room open.
Panels running from floor to ceiling for steam control and a built-in look, with the top edge fixed into a ceiling channel or sealed upstand.
A freestanding glass wall dividing the shower from a WC, vanity or bath in larger bathrooms, supported by floor channels and a wall or ceiling fixing.
A partition keeps a shower open and simple. If you need a closing door, compare our hinged shower glass doors, sliding shower glass doors and frameless shower glass.
WHY VISION THREE
Panel width, height and position are set from your shower head, tray and drain, not from a standard catalogue size.
Final measurements are taken on finished surfaces with a laser level, to within 1mm, so the glass fits the real opening.
Drilling through tile and into the wall is sealed and made good so the channel does not become a leak path behind the tile.
We can correct floor falls, tiling and drainage through our tile fixing and MEP teams before the glass goes in.
For apartments and towers we prepare the contractor work permit or NOC paperwork building management asks for.
Glass, thickness, coating, hardware and installation are each itemised so you can compare quotes like for like.
HOW IT WORKS
We check the shower with a laser level, test the floor fall, find the shower head position and confirm the wall can carry the fixings. You get honest advice on panel type and size.
You choose panel width and height, glass thickness, clear or low-iron glass, coating and hardware finish. An itemised quotation follows, usually within 24 hours.
Once tiles and grout are complete we take final measurements. Glass is cut, polished, drilled and toughened. Fabrication typically takes 5–10 working days.
We fix the wall and floor channels or clamps, set the panel plumb and level, and tighten every fixing. Most partitions are fitted in a half-day visit.
Joints are sealed with sanitary silicone and left to cure for 24 hours. We water-test the partition and show you how to keep it clear.
SIZING GUIDE
Panel size is the single biggest factor in whether a partition keeps the floor dry. As a starting point, the panel should cover the zone the water actually reaches, which depends on where the shower head points. The sizes below are typical, and we confirm them on site with the shower running in mind.
| Bathroom layout | Typical panel size | Glass | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Compact shower, 800–900mm tray | 800–900mm wide, 1,900–2,000mm high | 8–10mm | Single fixed panel; keep the shower head angled away from the open side |
| Standard shower, 900–1,200mm tray | 900–1,100mm wide, 1,900–2,100mm high | 10mm | The most common partition; fixed to the side wall and floor |
| Wide shower with rain head, 1,200–1,600mm | 1,200–1,400mm wide plus 300–450mm return | 10–12mm | The return panel catches spray the main panel cannot |
| Shower over bathtub, 1,500–1,700mm bath | 700–850mm wide, 1,400–1,500mm high | 8mm | Fixed screen on the bath rim, fixed to the wall channel |
| Full-height shower to ceiling | Panel to 2,400–2,700mm high | 10–12mm | Top edge fixed into a ceiling channel or sealed upstand |

A taller panel is not always better. Glass over about 2,100mm needs 10–12mm thickness and a ceiling or wall fixing for stiffness, and very tall panels cost noticeably more. For most Dubai apartments, a 10mm panel at 1,900–2,000mm high is the sweet spot between spray control and cost.
GLASS, FIXINGS & FINISHES
The glass decides how solid the partition feels, and the fixing decides how well it stays that way. For doors and full frameless detail, see our frameless shower glass page.
Bathtub screens and smaller fixed panels up to about 800mm wide. Strong, light to handle and cost-efficient.
Our default partition glass. Stiff enough to stand with wall channels or clamps alone, with a solid, reassuring feel.
Tall panels over about 2.1m, wide panels and full-height glass to the ceiling. Reserved for showpiece bathrooms.
Removes the green edge tint of standard glass so white marble and pale tiles read true. Typically adds 20–30% to the glass cost.
Acid-etched or sandblasted glass for privacy, fluted glass for texture, and bronze or grey tints for darker stone and joinery.
A hydrophobic coating that makes water bead and run off, sharply reducing mineral spotting. Recommended on every partition.
A partition is held by one of three fixings. Wall and floor channels give the cleanest, stiffest result and are best for 10mm and thicker glass. Clamps and brackets show a little more metal but suit panels that need slightly more adjustment. A support bar from the top of the panel to the wall adds stiffness to wide or tall panels without a frame. Hardware comes in polished chrome, brushed nickel, matte black, brushed gold and gunmetal, matched to your taps. We specify SS304 stainless steel as standard and marine-grade SS316 for coastal homes on Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Marina, JBR, Emaar Beachfront and Bluewaters Island, where salt-laden air can pit lower-grade fittings.
WHERE WE WORK
Fixed panels and bathtub screens for compact en-suites in Marina, JLT, Business Bay and JVC, with building-management rules handled. See our apartment renovation work.
Panel-with-return layouts, full-height glass and low-iron partitions for master bathrooms in Arabian Ranches, Dubai Hills Estate and Emirates Hills, often within a villa renovation.
Repeatable partition specifications across many rooms, with hard-wearing hardware and a quick turnaround per bathroom.
Showers and changing rooms that need durable fixed glass, easy cleaning and constant humidity resistance.
PROBLEMS WE SOLVE
Usually a panel that is too narrow or set on the wrong side of the shower head. We re-size, add a return panel or re-position the glass.
Failed or poorly applied silicone at the channel. We cut it out, clean and dry the joint, and re-seal with anti-fungal sanitary silicone.
Loose fixings or a wall without proper backing. We re-fix into solid backing and add a support bar where needed.
Drilling without the right bit or backing cracks tile and lets water behind it. We repair the tile and seal the penetration.
Mineral deposits bonded to uncoated glass. Specialist cleaning recovers mild cases and a protective coating prevents repeat build-up.
Toughened glass cannot be cut or re-drilled once damaged, so we template, re-make and replace the single panel.
COST GUIDE 2026
Supplied and installed, a shower glass partition in Dubai typically costs from AED 950 for a bathtub screen to AED 6,500 or more for a full-height low-iron partition with a return panel. Most standard fixed partitions in apartments land between AED 1,400 and AED 3,000.
Price follows five things: the glass area in square metres, the thickness, clear versus low-iron or decorative glass, the number of panels and cut-outs, and the hardware finish. Matte black and brushed gold cost more than chrome, and SS316 costs more than SS304.
Our quotes include survey, fabrication, delivery, installation, silicone sealing and removal of packaging. Removing an existing screen is quoted separately, typically AED 150–350.

COMPARE
What is the difference between a shower glass partition and a shower enclosure? A partition is a fixed glass panel with no door, while an enclosure adds a hinged or sliding door to close the space. A partition costs less, has fewer moving parts and is easier to clean, but it only works where the layout lets you step round the glass. Compare the door options on our shower glass doors and sliding shower glass doors pages.
| Feature | Fixed partition | Hinged enclosure | Sliding enclosure | Shower curtain |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Moving parts | None | Hinges and seals | Rollers and track | Rings and rail |
| Look | Open, minimal glass | Glass with a door | Glass with a top rail | Fabric or plastic |
| Water control | Good with correct sizing | Excellent | Excellent | Fair |
| Cleaning | Very easy | Easy | Track needs regular cleaning | Needs washing or replacing |
| Space needed | None | About 600mm door swing | None | None |
| Best for | Open showers, baths, wet-room style | Roomy villa bathrooms | Compact apartment bathrooms | Rentals, tight budgets |

AVOID COSTLY ERRORS
1. Choosing the panel width from a catalogue. A standard 900mm panel suits a standard shower. Put a rain head or a wide tray behind it and water will pass the edge. Size the panel from the spray, then add a return if needed.
2. Measuring before the tiles go on. A 10mm tile on 5mm of adhesive narrows the opening by 30mm across two walls. Glass ordered from drawings or before tiling rarely fits.
3. Ignoring the floor fall. If the shower floor does not fall towards the drain at roughly 1:50 to 1:80, water pools against the glass and finds its way under the seals.
4. Fixing glass into weak walls. 10mm glass weighs about 25kg per square metre. Channels or clamps fixed into gypsum board or hollow block without backing can pull loose within months.
5. Skipping the easy-clean coating. Saving a few hundred dirhams leaves uncoated glass that collects mineral deposits, which can become permanent within a year or two.
6. Drilling or trimming after toughening. Toughened glass cannot be cut, drilled or notched once tempered. Every cut-out must be planned before fabrication.

AFTERCARE
Ten seconds removes water before minerals dry on the glass. It is the single most effective habit.
A microfibre cloth and pH-neutral glass cleaner are all you need. Scouring pads and strong acids scratch glass and strip coatings.
Run the extractor during your shower and for 20 minutes afterwards to reduce mould in the silicone joints.
Look for gaps, black marks or lifting silicone along the channel and re-seal early to protect the tile behind.
Tighten any clamps or support bar fixings gently by hand. A loose fixing is the first sign of a wobbling panel.
Silicone discolours and loses adhesion. Our home maintenance and handyman teams can renew it in a single visit.
AREAS WE COVER

FAQS
Supplied and installed, a shower glass partition in Dubai typically costs AED 950–1,800 for a bathtub or half-height screen, AED 1,400–3,000 for a standard fixed 8–10mm panel up to 1.2m wide, and AED 3,000–6,500+ for full-height, low-iron or return-panel layouts. The exact price follows a free site survey.
A shower glass partition is a fixed glass panel with no door, while a shower enclosure adds a hinged or sliding door to close the shower. A partition costs less and is easier to clean, but it only suits layouts where you can step round the glass.
For a standard 900–1,200mm shower, a fixed partition 900–1,100mm wide usually contains the spray. Wide showers or rain heads often need a 1,200–1,400mm panel plus a 300–450mm return. We confirm the size on site, based on where your shower head points.
10mm toughened glass is the best all-round choice for a fixed shower partition in Dubai. Use 8mm for bathtub screens and panels under about 800mm wide, and 10–12mm for panels taller than about 2.1m or fixed to the ceiling.
Yes, if it is sized and positioned for your shower. A partition contains most spray on the side it covers, but it leaves an open side by design. A return panel or a slightly wider panel closes the gap if your shower head or tray position needs it.
Yes, and that is the recommended order. We take final measurements on finished tiles and drill through the tile only where the channel or clamp is fixed, then seal each penetration so water cannot get behind the tile.
Yes. Tempered (toughened) glass is around four to five times stronger than ordinary annealed glass and breaks into small, blunt granules rather than sharp shards. Every panel we install carries a visible safety mark.
Installation takes about half a day per bathroom. Including the survey, quotation and 5–10 working days of fabrication and toughening, most projects go from first visit to a usable shower in 7–14 days, with 24 hours for silicone to cure.
Yes, with an easy-clean hydrophobic coating, a squeegee after each shower and a weekly wipe with a pH-neutral cleaner. Uncoated glass that is regularly left wet gradually bonds with mineral deposits that cannot be fully removed.
A like-for-like glass installation does not usually need a Dubai Municipality permit, but most towers and community managers require a contractor work permit or NOC before work starts. We prepare the paperwork and work within the building’s permitted hours.
Yes. We re-seal leaking channels, re-fix loose panels and replace single cracked panels. Toughened glass cannot be repaired once damaged, but we can template and make a matching replacement in most cases.
